Food nation!

I've been researching about a book called Fast Food Nation

i really liked the book because it had so many facts that will guarantee you become a vegetarian!(for a short time at least)
for example:

"A nation's diet can be more revealing than its art or literature" is a quote that explains exactly what America is doing.
Other countries believe that America is just a bunch of fat ignorant people. All this obesity changes our image as being Americans.

Other things that I found interesting was that Mickey D's has the largest single purchaser in beef, pork and potatoes in the U.S.A!
Which by having all that they make food that is chemically enhanced or carefully designed to satisfy anyone.
And the food has less to do with chefs than with people in lab coats. That being said i believe we don't know what we are eating anymore. We just do. That is what the fast food nation brings full circle.

And he nation's 3.5 million workers are the largest group of minimum wage earners.

Also Mickey D's is putting effort to directly market kids. Since McDonalds is working with Disney,and not only market them but change the imagination of toddlers. About 96 percent recognize Ronald McDonald. The only highest notable person is Santa Claus. So McDonalds is succeeding in bringing kids to McDonalds.

This book has so many facts, that i find it disturbing how the country revolves around it.
I just felt unamerican by reading this book, a lot has to do with how we put ourselves out there. I'm no surprised why European people think we are whats wrong with the world.

I recommend anyone to read this book. It explains a lot. We already know obesity is bad. But this book gives you hard evidence on how much chain restaurants take affect.
