Jan Poppendieck will be in town to talk about her new and very timely book, Free for All: Fixing School Food in America (US Press,

2010). The book goes directly to the heart of reauthorization of the school meals programs, which is being debated right now in Congress.

Over 30 million children in the US eat school lunch every day—their nutrition, health and well‐being are what this book and presentation are all about. 

Jan Poppendieck will discuss her new book and then participate in a discussion  with time for questions and answers with advocates, LAUSD food services division and hopefully YOU!
